The story of KBK mirrors the history of the design community of San Antonio and South Texas. Prior to 1981, the trade community had limited choices for wholesale fabrics, wallcovering and furniture. Designers and their clients depended on showrooms in Dallas or Houston for samples, because the major suppliers viewed Dallas and Houston as the only venues in Texas suitable for the significant investment required to properly sample a showroom with books, catalogues and memo hanging samples.
KBK Inc. was incorporated in 1981 under the name Adler & Associates,
Inc. The name was changed to KBK in 1986 when Kenny and Bobby Kremer
became sole stockholders of the company.
In the late eighties and early nineties a select group of major suppliers — F. Schumacher, Kravet, and Duralee — saw the potential of “multiline” showrooms serving the design communities in secondary markets such as San Antonio. These showrooms were designated “wholesale agent to the trade.” KBK was selected as one of the agents.
KBK’s current line list of suppliers shows how many companies in the decorative products industry now recognize the value of an agent showroom and the vitality of the design community in secondary markets.
KBK is proud to provide the most up to date interior fashions to San Antonio and surrounding communities.
